01 Important Guidelines for Proper BLK2GO Scanning

In this tutorial, we would like to provide you with some tips about the BLK2GO and share our experiences with you.

To make scanning and processing later in the software easier, we have summarized the following tips and tricks in this article:

1. Planning of the project:

Think about how you can subdivide your project or which paths you can take. A tour should always last about 10 minutes. This makes evaluation on the PC much easier later on. Open the doors of the rooms that are to be recorded in the tour and, if necessary, wedge the door so that no movement can take place. Turn on the lights in all rooms.

Example apartment building:

1st tour: ground floor

2nd tour: first floor

3rd tour: basement

4th tour: facades and outdoor areas

5th Tour: Staircase

Make sure that the individual tours overlap. There should always be a room in the first tour and in the second tour.

In the example of an apartment building:

If you scan the ground floor, you will also capture the stairwell area, although later you will capture this in full in your stairwell tour. The resulting overlap is required later to link the two tours.

2. Set up the device:

Place the BLK2GO in the stand in the center of the area to be recorded. Start in the "main room" and then gradually walk through all the other rooms. We always recommend running a loop rather than arriving back at the starting point at the end of a tour.

3. Start tour:

When starting up, hold the BLK2GO firmly in the stand and wait until the initialization process is complete. You can tell by the full floor plan of their first room on the BLK2GO Live app. Try to stay behind or at best below the BLK2GO. Maintain an even walking pace and sometimes pause for a second in the door frame.
