Memory requirement BLK360, tablet or iPad BLK360

The following article is about the context in which the selected resolution, photo mode and storage space allocation of the available memory on the internal memory of the BLK360 and on the tablet are examined in more detail.

One thing in advance. Please do not work according to the motto a lot helps a lot. The small BLK360 is extremely fast and collects gigantic amounts of data in a very short time.

It is best to start with the following resolutions: Dense (this is the 3 highest resolution) and LDR photo shoots.

The new Leica BLK360 is equipped with around 180 GB of memory. This corresponds to 5 times the internal storage capacity of the previous model.

In addition to the memory requirements on the scanner itself, we looked at the memory requirements on the tablet. These are also guide values, since the exact scan size varies from scan to scan and the exact memory occupancy can only be read imprecisely.

CONCLUSION: As you can quickly see, the memory size of the tablet is the bottleneck. Tablets with 128GB, 256GB quickly reach their limits, especially with high-resolution HDR recordings. If you want to exhaust the storage capacity of the BLK360, you should rely on an iPad Pro with 1 or 2 TB. Please note the new LWPO option to reduce the data size on you mobile device.
