With the PinPoint RTC plug-in you can import the raw data of the Leica RTC360 directly. In this little tutorial we will show you how this works and what options you have here.
In addition, we will show you how you can implement the scans in a bundle adjustment (Cloud 2 Cloud) and check the results.
Create a new project and import RTC raw data
- Start the PinPoint Registration Tool and create a project.
- Now go to File -> Import -> Leica RTC360
Select Project.rtc360 file
Now navigate to the corresponding project directory and select the RTC360 project file and click the Open button.
Options for the import
Overview of the data
PinPoint now shows you the individual projects and the corresponding scans. You will also be shown the resolution (low, medium, high) in which the scans were made. You can also see whether photos were taken for the individual scans.
Advanced import options
A particularly interesting option is that you can now also reduce the import resolution later. To do this, select the respective scans and choose a desired resolution.
Select the scans to be imported
You can select or deselect entire projects or select or deselect individual scans. In addition, you can select whether you want to color the scans and whether the panorama images should be imported. Once all scans have been selected as required, start the import by clicking the import button.
Import process takes time
As in other point cloud software solutions, a little patience is now required. If you don't have time, you can import the scans in low resolution and, for example, deselect Colorize Points and Import Images. This speeds up the import process considerably.
